Light Game: Turn On the Bulbs
About Light Game
This light game gives you a very visual challenge: light up all the bulbs on the screen by connecting them to the battery through an electric circuit. The wires are scrambled and you have to rotate them one by one until every light receives power, all against the clock. It's a puzzle that combines spatial reasoning and speed, in the spirit of our logic games.
There are four difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard and extreme) with ten challenges each, unlocked little by little. The first uses a 3x3 grid with 90 seconds, and the extreme level reaches a 10x10 board with 240 seconds. For teachers, it's a practical way to introduce the concept of a closed circuit.
How do you play this light game?
The goal is to connect all the LED bulbs to the battery through a continuous path of wires.
- Find the battery and the bulbs on the board.
- Click a tile to rotate the wire piece it contains.
- Keep turning the segments until you form an unbroken path from the battery to every bulb.
- When they all light up, you beat the challenge and move on to the next one.
Light Game controls
PC
- Left mouse click: rotate the wire piece
Mobile and tablet
- Tap a tile: rotate the wire
What do you learn in Light Game?
- What an electric circuitis: a generator (battery), conductors (wires) and receivers (bulbs).
- The difference between an open and closed circuit.
- Spatial orientation and visualizing rotations.
- Planning, sustained attention and time management under pressure.
Recommended for ages 7 and up; the hard and extreme levels are also a good challenge for teenagers and adults.
Tips to play better: Light Game
- Always start at the battery and work outward: that way you know every piece you place already has power.
- Corner and edge pieces have fewer valid orientations; solving them first narrows down the options in the center.
- Look at the bulbs: they are usually the end of a path, so their wire can only point in one useful direction.
- On large boards, divide the grid into zones and finish one before moving to the next so you don't waste time.
Light Game FAQ
How many levels does the light bulb game have?
It has four difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard and extreme), with ten challenges in each, and the grid size and available time grow as you progress.
Is this light game useful for teaching circuits in class?
Yes. It's a great support for elementary school science: you can project it on the smartboard and solve the boards as a group, discussing why a bulb lights up or not.
What happens if time runs out?
If the timer hits zero before all the bulbs are lit, you'll have to try the challenge again.
