Color Sorting: Game for Kids
About Color Sorting
The color sorting game is an online activity designed for little ones in which you have to organize 20 geometric shapes - triangles, circles, squares and rectangles - into four boxes, each linked to a color: red, green, yellow and blue. To play you just click and drag each piece to the box that has its color, no matter what shape it is. A counter shows how many correct pieces are in each box, up to five per color, which makes this sorting by color activity a perfect exercise for introducing kids to counting. It is one of the standout activities among Ludorex's preschool games collection.
How to play Color Sorting?
The controls are very intuitive and need no prior knowledge.
- Look at the colored sticker on each box on the left.
- Pick a geometric shape on the right, no matter what shape it is.
- Click, hold and drag it to the box of the same color.
- Drop the piece and check the counter until you fill all five slots per box.

- Visual-motor coordination and fine motor skills when dragging and dropping precisely.

Tips to play better: Color Sorting
- Say the color and the shape out loud before dragging the piece, it helps lock in vocabulary.
- Let your child count the objects in each box out loud while playing.
- Turn it into a turn-based game: one names the shape and the other drags it to its box.
- If you get stuck on a color, first look at the shapes that are already sorted correctly as a clue.
